Why The 3-3-3 Styling Method Is Your Closet’s Secret Weapon

Over the last year or so, I’ve quickly become very adamant of stopping the cycle of overconsumption. As a content creator and influencer, it’s easy to buy the latest and greatest but I found myself wearing items only once or twice and spending hundreds of dollars, wasting time, effort and money. So I made the decision to slow down on buying things and work with what I have in my closet.

Enter the 3-3-3 Styling Method — the secret weapon to how I’m shifting my shopping habits and actually wearing what I own.

If you’ve never head of the 3-3-3 method, it’s pretty simple: select (3) tops, (3) bottoms, and (3) pairs of shoes. You can also add-in accessories and bags but for the sake of not overwhelming you — focus on the core 3.

The Process:

After you selected your items, this is where you can have fun. Get creative. Pair tops and bottoms and shoes in unconventional ways. Take note of what makes you light up, feel good and stylish. Pay attention to what you don’t like, what doesn’t work and what you may never reach for again.

The Point:

The point of this method is to help you find ways to style what you already own and think outside the box of what you normally reach for. It’s a chance to see and try new outfit formulas and styles without having to break the bank.
